Swimming achievements

Within sports in general there have been countless feats and historical events wrought by people with tempers of steel and a desire to feel alive. That is the case of Nacho Dean, an adventurer designed to explore and travel the world in every way possible.

The ways of performing feats within swimming become countless. Despite this, few have been the people who focus on carrying them out in open water; it is there where Dean's deed takes on greater importance.

What did Nacho Dean do?

What placed Nacho Dean within the feats of swimming was the Nemo expedition, named after the journey that the Spanish swimmer would undertake in order to unite the five continents.

For many a true madness, for him and those who supported him in the project, a great way to feel alive and raise awareness in the world. The main objective of the Spanish focused on telling the planet that the oceans and seas should be preserved instead of being filled with garbage and polluting objects.

This led him to swim over the most inhospitable straits in the world with lifeguard training near me, as well as overcome much inclement weather.

The five challenges of the Nemo expedition

The Spanish adventurer had to overcome five enormous challenges, which were planned in advance. After all the paperwork, the studies, and all the bureaucratic obstacles were overcome, the deed had to begin.

The first challenge was dated June 8, 2018, but bad weather conditions forced everything to be modified. Thus, on June 26, the first stop was carried out.

Strait of Gibraltar

The first challenge took place on a Tuesday and consisted of uniting the continents of Europe and Africa; Thus, Nacho Dean swam 15.1 kilometers in just 3 hours and 55 minutes. He began by linking Spain with the north of Morocco, one of the most complicated routes, especially due to the wind.

Meis a Kas

Dean's second challenge was located in the Mediterranean Sea between the countries of Greece and Turkey. In this, he had to unite the European continent with the Asian. This challenge was held on July 1, the tour lasted 2 hours and consisted of 7 kilometers.

Bering strait

The third challenge consisted of uniting Asia with America through the Bering Strait, one of the most aggressive on the planet, so much so that Nacho Dean himself considered the mere fact of getting there as a great triumph.

Although the route was 4 kilometers –the shortest of all, it was also considered the most complicated due to all the logistics involved and the icy waters of the north of the world. The crossing took place on Thursday, September 13, and lasted 1 hour and 11 minutes.

Indonesia to New Guinea

The fourth challenge was located in the Bismarck Sea just two months after the previous one -November 29-. In this, Nacho Dean had to unite the continents of Asia and Oceania, and so it was.

This was the second-longest of the five great challenges with a route of 20 kilometers and a duration of 6 hours and 30 minutes. In addition, the weather was quite extreme, in this case, due to the intense heat of the site.

Jordan to Egypt

Finally, challenge number five was carried out. This was carried out in the Red Sea, a place where the Spanish adventurer sought to unite the continent of Asia with that of Africa, specifically the countries of Jordan and Egypt.

Here, Dean's strong strokes meant it took just 2 hours flat to complete the challenge; that is to say that he swam 10 kilometers in a couple of hours. In this way, the Nemo expedition concluded.

The first crossing of Nacho Dean?

Although the Nemo expedition became part of the most important feats in the history of swimming, it should be noted that Nacho Dean is not dedicated solely to this discipline with American Lifeguard Training.

The Spanish adventurer had already made another enormous journey, this time with his feet. Dean is the first person in all of history to have walked around the world; This adventure was carried out between 2013 and 2016.
